However, the natural humidity in bentonite can affect filtration by altering the pH of oil when exposed to butane/oil solutions. To avoid this, it's recommended to bake the clay media at 212°F or higher for 6-8 hours (or 1-3 hours in a roto) before use. B80 is a cost-effective, pH-neutral, unprocessed scrubbing media that retains aromatics without isomerization. Always ensure the media bed stays soaked to prevent channeling, which can occur from moisture or draining too quickly.
