SkyBlue FR was founded with a clear mission: to enhance safety in the unregulated cannabis extraction industry. In 2017, the industry faced 1,700 work-related flash fires and explosions, with 150 incidents involving clothing ignition, underscoring the urgent need for protective apparel.

Determined to address this challenge, they spent two years rigorously testing materials, striving to develop the safest and most comfortable garments. By 2019, they had achieved their goal—introducing lab-specific clothing for hydrocarbon extraction that met NFPA 2112 and NFPA 70E standards, offering maximum protection without compromising comfort or style.

SkyBlue FR Lab Pants, launched in 2020, quickly gained industry recognition, paving the way for the debut of their Gas Mask Hoodies in 2021. By 2023, they raised the bar once again, making all their garments water- and oil-resistant, as well as anti-static—ensuring superior protection for both chemical and solventless extractions. As the cannabis industry continues to grow, so does the demand for higher safety standards.
